Cathy & Javier Bustos: Warriors Healing Warriors: Surviving Critical Incidents & Marriage

The Peer Support Couple, Cathy & Javier Bustos, are retired police officers with four decades of experience and are certified in First Responder Peer Support. They are dedicated to helping officers and their families manage stress from critical incidents. Featured in the documentary “Officer Involved,” they also hold certifications in Law Enforcement Peer Support. Having experienced multiple critical incidents themselves, including a line-of duty-death and an Officer Involved Shooting, they understand the challenges officers face. They are First Responder spouses and parents.

Director of Education and Outreach Warrior’s Rest Foundation, Jilly Newman discusses the timpact of trauma on first responders, trauma on first responder children, family communication and ways to connect with your family.
